Orbis Exchange Group Partners With ScoutDecision to Support Football's International Payments
Football platform for clubs, agents, scouts and coaches joins forces with global payments and treasury specialist to support the money side of international recruitment.
LONDON, 20/10/2026 — Orbis Exchange Group, the global payments and treasury partner with offices in London, Dubai and Los Angeles, has agreed a partnership with ScoutDecision, the football software platform used by clubs, agencies, scouts and coaches internationally.
The partnership connects two sides of the same transaction: the recruitment decision, and the money that follows it.
Why football needs this
Football is one of the most genuinely international markets in business. Very little of the money in it stays within one currency.
Transfer fees cross borders. Agent commissions are frequently agreed in one currency and paid in another. Player salaries, image rights, loan fees, solidarity payments, academy costs and scouting operations all move between countries as a matter of routine.
And football deals are rarely a single payment. A transfer fee is typically a schedule — an amount on completion, further instalments at twelve and twenty-four months, contingent add-ons tied to appearances or qualification, and a sell-on clause that may settle years later.
Each of those is a separate exchange rate exposure, stretching well beyond the window in which the deal was agreed. The budget signed off by a board was built on the rate that existed that week. The payments happen at whatever rate applies when they fall due.
Over a transfer window's worth of business, that gap adds up — in either direction, for buying and selling clubs alike.
What ScoutDecision does
ScoutDecision is a football software platform built to replace the spreadsheets, scattered folders, PDFs and WhatsApp threads that recruitment work still runs on at most clubs and agencies. It supports four distinct groups of users, each with their own version of the platform.
For scouts and analysts. Player database management, so profiles are created, updated and filtered without the copy-and-paste routine. Scout reports built around the user's own evaluation framework and KPIs, with automatic comparisons generated between players. Data can be imported from Wyscout, StatsBomb and other providers. And transfer tracking, so recruitment targets can be monitored by position through a window rather than reconstructed from memory at the end of it.
For coaches. A library of training drills and exercises, created in the platform or imported, used as building blocks for practice planning. Automated scheduling and communication around training sessions and match days, with control over what is shared with players. And morning and session questionnaires covering wellness and perceived effort, so athlete feedback can be reviewed against sessions over time.
For agents and agencies. Centralised player information — biographical data, video, contracts, profile links and scout reports in one place rather than spread across email, Drive and messaging apps. A CRM for club requests and contacts, connecting conversations directly to the players they concern. And instant generation of PDFs and shareable links for reports, shadow teams and graphics, so a player can be put in front of a club in minutes.
For clubs. The above, combined across a football department, with role-based permissions so directors, coaches, analysts and athletes each see only what is relevant to them.
Alongside the software, ScoutDecision runs a football directory and its Football Matchmaking events — including Lisbon 2026 — which connect clubs, agents and decision-makers directly. The platform runs in nine languages, is used across Europe, South America, Africa and US college soccer, supports women's football and futsal as readily as the men's professional game, and offers API access on request for clubs integrating it with existing systems.
What ties it to our side of the business is straightforward. ScoutDecision exists to make recruitment decisions better informed. Every one of those decisions that crosses a border eventually becomes a payment — and that payment deserves the same rigour as the scouting work that led to it.
What the partnership provides
Through the partnership, ScoutDecision's community of clubs, agencies and football professionals gains access to Orbis Exchange Group for:
· Competitive exchange rates on international transfers, typically better than high street banking arrangements
· Forward contracts to fix the rate on committed instalments, so the figure agreed at the negotiating table is the figure that actually settles
· Options and market orders for contingent payments such as appearance-based add-ons, where the obligation may or may not arise
· Multi-currency and collection accounts for agencies and clubs receiving funds in several currencies
· A named account manager reachable during transfer windows, when decisions are made in hours rather than weeks
Orbis clients working in football — clubs, agencies, academies and investors — will in turn have access to ScoutDecision's platform for player database management, scout reporting and comparison, transfer target tracking, practice planning and agency CRM, along with its football directory and matchmaking events. The platform offers a free trial and a personalised onboarding call, so it can be tested properly before any commitment.
Each organisation remains responsible for its own specialism. Orbis does not advise on recruitment, and ScoutDecision does not provide payment or foreign exchange services.
Get set up before the window, not during it
One piece of practical advice sits behind this partnership.
Regulated payment providers must complete client verification checks before any money moves — corporate structure, beneficial ownership, source of funds. For a football club or agency, that takes days rather than hours, and longer where ownership structures are complex.
Transfer windows do not allow for that. A club trying to arrange a same-day seven-figure international payment on deadline night is in exactly the position where expensive decisions get made.
Clubs and agencies that get accounts open, beneficiaries loaded and rates understood before a window opens spend deadline day dealing with football, not banking.
"Football is a global market where almost every serious deal crosses a currency border, and the payment side of it gets a fraction of the attention the football side does. That's understandable — but a 3% move on a €10m fee is €300,000 nobody budgeted for.
"ScoutDecision has built something clubs, agents and scouts genuinely rely on for recruitment decisions. Supporting the payments that follow those decisions is a natural fit, and we're looking forward to working with their community."
